A consortium of seven Web3 investors, including Animoca Brands, ViaBTC Capital, Everwood Capital, CANDAQ, WAGMI Ventures, Credit Scend, and Web3 Labs, has backed IOTrader with $3.8 million in a strategic funding round.
IOTrader is a non-custodial perpetual exchange operating on BNB Smart Chain. The protocol combines perpetual futures, on-chain price predictions, custom prediction markets, and an AI-assisted trading copilot inside a single wallet-native interface. Per aggregator data, the platform has accumulated more than $1 billion in cumulative trading volume since launching its mainnet product over 11 months ago, and currently sits inside the top 20 perpetual DEXs by activity.
Animoca Brands brings one of the deepest networks in Web3 gaming and consumer crypto, having backed over 540 projects to date. ViaBTC Capital, the investment arm of one of the longest-running Bitcoin mining operations, has emerged in recent cycles as an active investor in trading infrastructure and liquidity-focused protocols.
Everwood Capital and CANDAQ contribute coverage across institutional crypto and infrastructure financing. Web3 Labs brings technical and ecosystem reach into enterprise blockchain. Credit Scend and WAGMI Ventures broaden the platform’s presence in community-driven Web3 and consumer markets.
The IOI utility token whitepaper has been notified to the Central Bank of Ireland under the European Union’s MiCA framework, and the token holds an assigned Digital Token Identifier for institutional reference. The platform’s smart contracts have undergone a third-party security audit.
Industry observers note that IOTrader’s existing live product and on-chain volume profile are unusual for a project still in the pre-token phase, with most peers raising capital well before measurable traction. The round closes ahead of IOTrader’s token generation event.
